Lee Poston is a native of Alamo, Tennessee. He earned his degree in Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University in 1994. His 9 years of work experience include acute care, outpatient sports medicine, home health, level 1 trauma care, cardiac ICU, burn ICU, and wound care. Lee was director of a successful rehabilitation and sports medicine clinic in Tennessee. there he worked closely with Dr. Curt Spindler, head of Sports Medicine at Vanderbilt University, a specialist in knee & shoulder injuries. Lee is experienced in treating student athletes at the high school and college levels.
Lee spent three years as a traveling PT, which brought him to Maui Memorial Medical Center in 1997. He is certified in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the spine, and is a member of the McKenzie Institute International. His treatment approach is "evidence based". He focuses on the mechanical causes of pain with the ultimate goal of empowering patients to self manage their symptoms. Patients learn to prevent recurrences through exercise, education is lifestyle changes, and behavioral modification. His specialty areas of interest include comprehensive treatment of acute, sub-acute, and chronic cervical and lumbar spine injuries. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. |
